Our ‘Dee Dee’ drape dress in black flowing, crease free fabric. With heaps of vintage elegance & panache, this chic number makes the perfect stand out evening dress. Comes with a matching 2”belt too!
It features an off-the-shoulder, bardot style neckline with classical angled sleeves and a bateau straight back neckline. It is made from a high quality, stretch crepe, with a satin lined & front boned bodice and a concealed zip at the back for smooth fit. The waist does not have any belt loops which gives you the choice to wear this dress with or without it’s matching 2 inch belt. The skirt section is full circle with lashings of fabric and is worn here with one of our fluffy black petticoats, sold separately.

HOT DAMN. I’ve only had hell bunny etc. swing dresses before and this is Something Else. The fabric was weight. It stays up by itself. There’s light boning in the front and the slight stretch is perfect.

I have looked for the perfect black off-shoulder dress for years and after returning one from a much more expensive company, I discovered British Retro and decided to buy this dress.
I’m a size 12 with a wide back, I looked at the size measurements on this page and I was closer to their 16. I took the advice from other reviewers and sized down to a 14, which is perfect! The dress has a good weight to it but still has lots of movement and is very comfortable. Wearing with a petticoat is even better!
