🛍 Returns Policy & Your Right to Cancel

We hope you love your British Retro purchase, but if for any reason you’re not completely satisfied, we’re here to help. Please read our returns policy carefully, especially in relation to timeframes for refunds or store credit.

 Right to Cancel 

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations (UK), you have the right to cancel your order within 14 calendar days of receiving it. To be eligible for a refund:

  • You must notify us of your intention to return within 14 days of receiving your order.
  • You must return the item(s) within 28 days of that notification.
  • Returns received beyond this 28-day period will not be eligible for a refund.

Once we receive the returned item(s) in resellable condition, a refund will be issued to your original payment method, including standard shipping costs (if applicable). Please note, we cannot refund any premium or express delivery charges.

Returns received after 28 days will not be accepted under any circumstances.

⚠️ Additional Return Terms

  • If you return more than 2 items, a £2.99 handling fee will be deducted from your refund or store credit. An additional £1 per item will be charged beyond the third item.
  • If you received free shipping on your order and choose to return it, the original delivery cost will be deducted from your refund or credit.
  • We strongly encourage all customers to check our size guide and product descriptions to minimise the need for returns.

Important Conditions

All returned items must be:

  • In original, unworn, and re-sellable condition.
  • Free of stains, odours, animal hair, damage, or excessive creasing.
  • Returned with tags still attached and in original packaging (including boxes for shoes).

Non-returnable items for hygiene reasons:

  • Face masks
  • Body shapers
  • Hosiery
  • Lingerie
  • Pierced jewellery

Any items returned in an unsellable condition will be sent back to you.

 Faulty or Incorrect Items

If you receive a faulty or incorrect item, please contact us immediately. You are entitled to a refund, repair or replacement under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, within 30 days of receipt for a refund if item has been unworn, unwashed with tags still attached, or up to 6 weeks for a repair or replacement (if the fault was manufacturing-related).

Only return postage for faulty/incorrect items will be refunded (based on economy postage rates). If additional non-faulty items are returned at the same time, return postage for those items will not be refunded.

🚚 Return Shipping & Process

Customers are responsible for return postage unless the item is faulty or not as described. We recommend using a signed-for service and retaining proof of postage, as we are not responsible for lost returns. Lost parcels must be claimed through your postal provider.

If returning from outside the UK, mark the package clearly as “Returned Goods” to avoid customs charges.

📦 Return Instructions

  1. Log in to ‘My Account’ at the top of the website.
  2. Locate the order and select ‘Return’, complete the form and submit.
  3. Include the invoice and completed returns form in the parcel.

(This form is printed on the back of your invoice. Contact us if you need a replacement.)

Processing Time

Returns may take up to 21 working days to process once received. If you have not heard from us after this time, please contact us with your return tracking number.

🎫 Gift Vouchers

Gift vouchers are non-refundable and non-exchangeable.

🔒 Returns Abuse

We reserve the right to deactivate accounts or refuse future orders if we identify repeated high-volume returns or misuse of our returns process.
