Measuring Tips to Assure The Best Fit

Bust

With arms at sides, place tape measure under your arms and run it around the fullest part of the bustline and across the shoulder blades.

Waist

Find the natural crease of your waist by bending to one side. Run tape measure around your natural waistline, keeping one finger between the tape and your body for a comfortable fit.

Hips

With feet together, run tape measure around the fullest part of your hips/seat, about 7 to 8 inches below your waistline.

Inseam

For full-length pants, run tape measure along the inside of your leg, from just below the crotch to about 1 inch below the ankle.

As we are an independent and only produce small quantities our sizes vary slightly from style to style.

All garments have been carefully measured, therefore to ensure the very best fit, we suggest taking your own body measurements, whilst wearing light-weight clothing/ underwear and standing up straight, and compare these to our size chart.

She’s ship-shape and Bristol fashion, our navy anchor Way Out West dress. This nautical beauty is cut from a soft flowing cotton. She fastens with 18, front mother of pearl buttons and features half sleeves with nifty buttoned cuffs and an elegant, semi 50’s style flared collar. Comes with a matching 2″ belt too.

The skirt is full circle, so just pop one of our fluffy ivory petticoats underneath, as pictured and sold separately, to create a full on 50s look or wear without for that chic, shirt dress look. Or you can even pop on some sneakers and undo a few buttons for a more casual look!

100% cotton

    I loved it! I was a bit concerned about the size as I am not used to british sizing and according to the sizing chart my measurements were just on the edge for size 10. My waist is 72 cm. It fitted perfectly. Usually I need to sew an extra button in the breast area on shirts, but I do not need to do it on this dress. I am impressed it never happened before. I can’t wait to wear this dress.
